Synonyms:  Myristica officinalis, M. oromata and Nux moschata

About Olives: Olive evergreen tree belongs to small tree species which is native of coastal areas of Mediterranean region including western Asia, south Western Europe and Northern Africa. The name of the plant is derived from its fruit which are called ‘olives’. The height of an olive tree would rarely across 50feets and it bears small white coloured flowers. The length of olives as a fruit is up to 2.5 cm and can be green or purple in colour. The fruit is best known to be commercial used for its oil which is primarily used for cooking and has many therapeutic properties.
